    Sondra Turin

    Sondra Turin was born in Mexico City, Mexico and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. After receiving her B.B.A. in Business Management from Texas A&M University, she attended the University of Texas School of Law. During law school, she was an Articles Editor for The Review of Litigation.

    Upon receiving her J.D. degree, Sondra moved to California and was licensed to practice law in 1993. During her time in California, she practiced law in the areas of civil litigation, appellate law, corporate transactions, contracts and business formation.

    She returned to Texas to practice law in 1997. She became principal of Turin, Turin & Olinger. P.C. practicing immigration law for many years. She then became a part of Yu, South and Associates where she continued practicing immigration law. Sondra is now the owner of her own law firm, Sondra Turin, Attorney at Law.

    Sondra is licensed to practice in both California and Texas. She is a citizen of the U.S. and Mexico. She is fluent in Spanish. Sondra is a dedicated advocate for human rights.

    Lynn S. Olinger


    Lynn S. Olinger is an immigration law specialist, certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization In Immigration and Nationality Law. She has been an advocate and litigator for more than 35 years. Since 2001, Lynn has dedicated her practice to immigration law and was a founding member of a well-respected boutique immigration law practice. Lynn later started her own firm to continue the tradition of highly specialized immigration law, while providing clients individual, personalized attention.

    Prior to her immigration law concentration, Lynn was a criminal prosecutor in New York City when crime there was rampant, and is known to admit “after that, not much scares or shocks me.” For the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office Lynn was the Supervisor of the Organized Crime Bureau and Deputy Chief of the Public Corruption Bureau. As a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Lynn prosecuted organized crime and racketeering enterprises.

    Lynn attended the State University of New York at Albany and Hofstra University School of Law. She is admitted to the Texas and New York state bars and has argued cases in those states’ federal district courts as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Lynn instructs other attorneys on immigration law subjects.

  • Joshua Turin

    Joshua Turin, who is now Of Counsel to Esquenazi & Turin, obtained his law degree from the University of Texas-Austin in 1983, where he won the Jessup International Law Moot Court contest.  He began practicing immigration law in 1984 until he retired from active practice in 2022.  He successfully litigated immigration cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Circuit Courts (licensed in the 2nd, 5th, 9th and 10th Circuits) and before numerous district courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, where he won numerous cases of first impression. 

    He was twice an Examiner in Immigration Law for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
